Two children are taking on a sponsored walk in memory of their dad to say thank you to the hospital team who cared for him.
Alana and Aidan decided they wanted to do something special in memory of their daddy, Craig, who was cared for on the Critical Care Ward at the hospital in Stoke-on-Trent, known to many as North Staffordshire Hospital.
The family say every penny raised will go to the ward as a thank you to the staff who looked after Craig "with such kindness, compassion and dedication".
In an appeal shared online, the family said: "The Critical Care team did everything they could for Craig... They also supported us as a family and helped us through moments we never imagined we would have to face."
They added that Alana and Aidan "want to give something back to the people who cared for their daddy and to help support the amazing work they do for other families going through what we went through".
"They know Daddy would be so proud of them," the family said.
"This walk is for Daddy. For the memories. For the love. And for the incredible people who cared for him."
The family said they would be "incredibly grateful" for any sponsorship, "no matter how big or small".
