Smallthorne Residents Fuming After Graffiti Defaces Church Wall

Residents in Smallthorne have reacted with anger after bright yellow graffiti was sprayed across a long brick wall on what is understood to be church grounds.

The graffiti appears to advertise an event at the bandstand in Hanley Park, although at this stage there is no evidence confirming who was responsible for the damage.

Locals have described the graffiti as “disgusting” and “disrespectful”, with the incident quickly attracting attention from people living in the area. The vicar was reportedly seen outside attempting to remove the paint using a brush and soapy water.

However, in a positive response to the damage, members of the local community have already offered to help with pressure-washing equipment to get the wall cleaned up.

It is another example of residents coming together when their local area is affected, with people now hoping the graffiti can be removed as quickly as possible.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could help identify those responsible is asked to report the information to Staffordshire Police or contact the church.
