A 20-year-old man from Hanley has been jailed for two years and 10 months for a burglary in Blurton and a violent attack in Longton that left a man with a broken cheekbone.
Ajay Butler was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday 18 September.
He had pleaded guilty to burglary. A jury found him guilty of grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm after a trial.
The burglary took place at a house in Blurton in the early hours of 28 July this year. Staffordshire Police said three people were involved, with Butler wearing a balaclava, and more than £850 worth of property was taken while the occupant was at home.
The assault happened in Longton in 2023 and began when eggs were thrown at a neighbour's window, police said.
A man who confronted Butler was punched, and a relative was kicked in the face while on the floor, suffering a broken cheekbone.
A second defendant in the case received a suspended sentence.
PC Bennett, of Staffordshire Police's city proactive team, said: "Butler caused a great deal of harm with his offending across both of these incidents and has rightfully been brought to justice following our investigation."
He added: "We're continuing to act robustly against the offenders responsible for these crimes in Stoke-on-Trent and wider Staffordshire."
