M6 Stoke-on-Trent: Motorway Closed After Serious Collision

The M6 is currently closed in both directions near Stoke-on-Trent following a serious collision involving three lorries and a car.

    The aftermath of yesterday's fatal M6 crash near Stoke-on-Trent is continuing to cause disruption.

    Police are still investigating the collision between three lorries and a car, which happened between Junction 15 and Junction 16.

    One man died in the crash, while lorry drivers were taken to Royal Stoke for treatment.

Emergency services were called at around 4.10am today (Monday, August 17) to the M6 northbound between Junction 15 and Junction 16 after reports of the crash. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area where possible while emergency services deal with the incident.

The closure is causing significant disruption across Stoke-on-Trent, with traffic building on routes into Hanley, Burslem, Newcastle-under-Lyme and surrounding areas. Drivers heading through the area are advised to allow extra time, consider alternative routes and check traffic conditions before setting off. Further updates are expected as the incident is dealt with.

That's my morning travel plans out of the window then! this stretch of the M6 is known for the accidents, real shame and my thoughts go out to anyone effected.
