Beartown Brewery To Open Goods Yard Tap In Restored Stoke Signal Box

Beartown Brewery will open a new bar, café and taproom in a restored signal box next to Stoke railway station in October, it has been announced.

Goods Yard Tap will be on the ground floor of the signal box at Capital&Centric's £63m Goods Yard development.

An Italian restaurant will open on the first floor. The operator has not yet been announced.

The venue will serve speciality coffee and pastries from 7am, alongside a burger menu and a taproom with a changing line-up of beers from independent Staffordshire and Midlands breweries.

Goods Yard is a £63m scheme that includes homes, 30,000 sq ft of workspace and a public square.

The new openings follow Panko & Sushi, which opened at the site in March.

Joe Manning, managing director of Beartown Brewery, said: "We're properly excited to be opening Goods Yard Tap and becoming part of what's happening in Stoke."

Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital&Centric, said: "We believe in Stoke. That's why we've put £63m behind Goods Yard, and why we're continuing to put our money into great places here."

He added: "Turning an old Signal Box into somewhere for coffee, burgers and beers is exactly the sort of thing we love doing."

Capital&Centric says there is more to come, including its plans for Spode Works.
