Six Towns Daily is hearing that the car could have been stolen and driven by joy riders, dog walkers heard the crash and rang the police.

Police arrived and cordoned off the road.

The dog walkers have stated that no one was in the car when they got to it, but the airbags had been deployed.

Local Dog Walkers Called Police

Passing local dog walkers who saw the crash happen called 999.

A road in Newcastle-under-Lyme has been closed following a crash involving a BMW this evening.

The incident happened on Hoon Avenue, near the ST5 9NY area, where the BMW has crashed into a tree.

Police are currently at the scene and the road has been closed while emergency services deal with the incident.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route while the closure remains in place.

There are currently no further details about any injuries or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
